Is the lid of your Wesco Kickmaster bin no longer closing properly, or does it not spring open smoothly when you press the pedal? There is a good chance that one or both springs need replacing. Fortunately, this is a straightforward repair that will keep your bin working for years to come.
The Wesco Kickmaster works via a pedal mechanism that opens the lid through a spring system. Every Kickmaster has two springs fitted in the system. When the lid hangs loosely, no longer closes fully, or moves in a jerky manner, there is almost always a spring that is worn or broken.
Although sometimes only one spring is visibly defective, we always recommend replacing both springs at the same time. The springs wear at a similar rate, meaning the still-functioning spring is typically also nearing the end of its lifespan. By replacing both in one go, you avoid having to disassemble the mechanism again shortly afterwards.
